The Chemical
Complex

The construction of this modern chemical complex was initiated in late 1992. It should noted that the concept, design and construction of this model plant was fully supervised our team of senior engineers incorporating all the valuable experience gained by Härting in the divers fields of chemical engineering.

This plant was also designed according to the highest operating standards currently available for a chemical manufacturing plant. Particular attention was given to plant equipment layout, facilities, and to the waste water treatment plant.

Raw materials are transported and metered in the plant by fully automated process handling systems. Solid raw materials are initially pre-weighed and transported to the top floor of our twenty-five, meter high process building, by means of a freight elevator with a capacity of six tons. Once arriving, to theri designated hoppers, they flow by gravity to the reactors, which are mounted on load cells verifying their charge weights. Liquid raw materials are initially received in the plant by tank truck in an elevated platform permitting discharge by gravity to their respective storage tanks. The operations of transporting and metering to the process building, reactors, and conditioning tanks are done by an automated pumping station, which is pre.programed in the process control room. Subsequent to completing these operations, all of the transport charges are verified by the weighing systems, which each receiving reactor and conditioning tank prossesses. All of the piping and mass flow meters are systems dedicate to each raw material separately.

The storage tank farms and pumping stations are located at save distances from the areas of process operation. From the upper levels of the building, process materials flow mainly by gravity through the various reactors and conditioning tanks down to the storage tanks or drums receiving the finished products. Plant design allows for high production rates and flexibility. Several chemical processes can be effectively handled at the same time. Piping is kept virtually free of deposits and residues due to this gravity-type design and the use of the additional pumping equipment is thus conveniently avoided.

This plant was also designed according with the highest operating standards currently available for a chemical manufacturing plant.
